Buckeyes Named to Big Ten Players to Watch List

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State women's golf senior Allison Harper and freshmen Jessica Porvasnik and Katja Pogacar earned spots on the 2013 Big Ten Player to Watch list, the Big Ten announced on Wednesday.
Harper, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, concluded the 2012-2013 season came in third on the squad with a 77.61 stroke average, playing in all 31 rounds. Harper's best finish came at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational, April 20-21, where she tied for seventh overall with a season-low 228.
Porvasnik, of Hinckley, Ohio, was a four-year starter at Highland High School. Prior to Ohio State, Porvasnik tied the Ohio high school division I record with a 140 at the OSU Golf Club in October, capturing the state individual title. This summer, Porvasnik took 23rd in the 2013 Junior PGA Championship and placed first in the PGA Series held at Purdue.
Pogacar, a native of Ljubljana, Slovenia, is in her first season with the program. Pogacar has been a member of numerous Slovenian National teams and took first place in the 2012 Hungarian Ladies Amateur.
The Buckeyes open up the fall schedule at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., Sept. 14-15.
