Carling Coffing moves up 14 spots to lead Ohio State through round two and tie for 24th
 
COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s golf team concluded the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Tuesday, slipping one spot to 14th place in Palos Verdes, Calif. The Buckeyes shot a team score of 315 on the par 71, 5,912 Palos Verdes Golf Club during the second day of the 54-hole event to bring their two-day team total to 56-over 624 (309-315).

Entering day three in first is Southern California, who overtook day-one leader UCLA. Southern California shot a 288 for the second round brining their two-day total to 18-over 586 (298-288).
 
Moving up 14 spots from her day one position to lead the Buckeyes through round two and sit tied for 24th is Carling Coffing. The senior from Middletown, Ohio, birdied two holes en route to a 74 for a two-round total to 151 (+9). 
 
Ohio State’s day one leader Jennifer Cassidy and sophomore Emma Jandel are tied for 50th at the conclusion of day two. Both Cassidy (74-83) and Jandel (78-79) have a 36-hole total of 157 (+15).
 
Also competing for the Buckeyes are juniors Gemma Webster and Jessica Hauser. Webster shot a 79 on day two, totaling 159 (+17) to tie for 59th. Hauser shot an 85 during the second round for a total of 165 (+23) and stand in 77th place.
 
Redshirt-freshman Gina Besozzi also made the trip to compete as an individual and moved up on spot to 83rd with a two-day total of 172 (+30).
 
Ohio State will compete in the final round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. (PT).
