Final Two Rounds Canceled at Landfall Tradition
Oct. 28, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team wrapped up the fall campaign Sunday at the 2012 Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. Heavy rains of Hurricane Sandy drenched the Country Club of Landfall’s Jack Nicklaus course.
The weather conditions also canceled play Saturday after 9-12 holes of the second round were completed. Only round one was completed in its entirety.
Oklahoma State was declared the team champion with a 4-over 292 in round one, one stroke ahead of Duke. After matching the tournament record for her opening round score, Texas Tech senior Kim Kaufman finished first among individuals with a 5-under 67 in round one.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Claudia Lim carded three birdies Friday on her way to a 2-over 74tied for 23rd.
Junior Allison Harper and senior Susana Benavides each finished with a 5-over 77 in round one to tie for 43rd. With a team-high three birdies in round one, sophomore Jan Chanpalangsri notched a 6-over 77.
The Scarlet and Gray take a break from competition before returning to the course in February to start the spring schedule. Ohio State is set to host its annual Alumni Match in West Palm Beach, Fla., Feb. 3.
