COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State women’s golf team battled through 9-10 holes against harsh weather conditions in round two of the 2012 Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. Play was suspended at 12:09 p.m. because of driving rain and high winds from Hurricane Sandy.
Duke took the lead through nine holes on the par 72, 6,138-yard Jack Nicklaus Course/Country Club of Landfall. Lindsey Weaver carded two birdies on the day to rise to first among individuals through 11 holes.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Claudia Lim is tied for 24th to lead all Buckeyes.
Junior Allison Harper rose from 43rd after round to tie for 35th through 10 holes of play in round two. She carded one birdie on the day and is 2-over par. Senior Susana Benavides is 4-over par through 10 holes in round two and tied for 52nd.
Senior Rachel Rohanna is four strokes over par through ten holes in round two and moved up to 62nd in the field. Jan Chanpalangsri and Amy Meier each tallied one birdie through 10 holes of play. Chanpalangsri is tied 70th, while Meier is tied for 78th.
A shotgun start is tentatively scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Sunday to resume play.
