No. 28 Buckeyes Finish Day One of Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The No. 28 Ohio State women’s golf team concluded the first round of the Landfall Tradition Friday tied for 13th overall with a 28-over 316. The three-day, 18-hole tournament, featuring 14 teams ranked in the top 50, is being played on par 72, 6,997-yard Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall.
Alabama leads the field of 18 and finished the day at 3-under 285. The Crimson Tide’s Stephanie Meadow closed out the first round with a 2-under 70 to lead all individuals.
Freshmen Katja Pogacar and Ileen Domela guided the Buckeyes on the first day, finishing tied for 33rd and tied for 39th, respectively. Pogacar totaled a 5-over 77, while Domela wasn’t far behind with a 6-over 78.
Freshman Jessica Porvasnik came in tied for 56th overall, carding an 8-over 80. Junior Claudia Lim finished with an 81 to tie for 60th and classmate Jan Chanpalangsri concluded with an 83. Junior Sheridan Balyeat, competing as an individual, had an 87 on the day.
Round two kicks off with 8:30 a.m. ET with tee times off of holes No. 1 & 10.
