Buckeyes Finish Windy City Collegiate in Seventh

CHICAGO - The Ohio State women's golf team closed out the Windy City Collegiate Classic Tuesday, finishing seventh overall with a 21-over 873. The Buckeyes totaled a 294 on the final day in Chicago on the par 71, 6,108-yard Northmoor Country Club.
Ohio State was led by a pair of freshmen in Jessica Porvasnik and Katja Pogacar. The duo came in tied for 15th overall with a 4-over 217. Following two rounds of 71, Porvasnik capped the tournament with a 75 Tuesday and tied a team-best with nine birdies over three rounds. Pogacar finished with a 1-over 72 in the final round to go with scores of 74 and 71.
Jan Chanpalangsri totaled nine birdies over three rounds and finished tied for 22nd with a 6-over 219. The junior carded a career-low 67 in round two and finished with a 77 in round one and a 75 in the last round.
Freshmen Ileen Domela moved up the leaderboard on the final day and finished tied for 47th, putting together her best round of the tournament Tuesday. She totaled a 1-over 72 on the day to go with a pair of 77s for a 13-over 226.
Junior Claudia Lim competed as an individual for Ohio State and finished tied for 59th with a 17-over 230. Senior Allison Harper entered the day tied for 37th, but withdrew halfway through the final round.
Southern California took the team title with a 1-over 853. Arizona's Lindsey Weaver finished first individually, totaling a 5-under 208 for the Wildcats.
The Buckeyes will next travel to Iowa City, Oct. 12-13, for the Diane Thomason Invitational hosted by Big Ten opponent Iowa.
