Ohio State Wraps First Day of Windy Collegiate Classic in Seventh

CHICAGO - The Ohio State women's golf team concluded the first day of the annual Windy City Collegiate Classic in Chicago. The Buckeyes placed seventh after carding an 11-over 579 (297-282) on the par 71, 6,108-yard Northmoor Country Club.
Freshman Jessica Porvasnik was the top performer for the Buckeyes, tying for eighth place after an even 142. The Hinckley, Ohio, product put together back-to-back 71s on the day. She totaled four birdies in each round.
After a 6-over 77 in round one, junior Jan Chanpalangsri soared up the leaderboard in the afternoon after carding a 4-under 67 in the second round. She is currently tied for 20th scoring paring a 2-over 144. Freshman Katja Pogacar is tied for 25th with a 3-over 145 following rounds of 74 and 71 to round out the top 25.
Junior Claudia Lim competed as an individual for the Buckeyes and finished the day with a 10-over 152 to tie for 55th.
Southern California closed out the day on top of the team leaderboard with a 6-under 562. Kyung Kim of USC was the individual leader totaling a 5-under 137.
Play will resume tomorrow with tee times off No. 1 & No. 10 beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT.
