Ohio State Finishes Second at Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Ohio State women's golf team concluded the first tournament of the season in second place at the Mary Fossum Invitational, posting a 32-over 896. The Buckeyes carded a 16-over 304 on the final day on the par 72, 6236-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.
Ohio State was led by a quartet of Buckeyes who finished in the top 20. Freshman Ileen Domela finished the day with a 4-over 76 and came in tied for second overall with a 4-over 220 (71-73-76). Classmate Jessica Porvasnik also shot a 76 on the day and finished tied seventh with a 7-over 223 (74-73-76).
Also playing for the Scarlet and Gray were juniors Jan Chanpalangsri and Claudia Lim. Chanpalangsri, competing as an individual, finished tied for 46th with a 236 and Lim concluded the tournament with a three-day total of 238 to tie for 53rd.
The Buckeyes next travel to Chicago, Sept. 30-Oct. 1, for the Windy City Collegiate hosted by Big Ten rival Northwestern.
