Buckeyes Second after Day One of Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Ohio State women's golf team concluded day one of the Mary Fossum Invitational Saturday with a 16-over 592, rounding out the day second overall. The two-day tournament is being played on the par 72, 6,236-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course.
Freshman Ileen Domela, competing in her first tournament as a Buckeye, led the team with a even 144 (71-73) and is tied for second overall. Her day was highlighted by five birdies and 1-under par in the first round.
Two other Buckeyes finished in the Top 10 on the day. Freshman Jessica Porvasnik finished tied for sixth overall with a score of 3-over 147. Senior Allison Harper came in tied for ninth with a 4-over 148.
Competing as an individual for the Buckeyes was Jan Chanpalangsri, who tied for 46th with 11- over 155.
The 2013 Mary Fossum Invitational concludes Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET.
