No. 20 Ohio State Concludes NCAA Championship in 22nd

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Notching its lowest round of the tournament by seven strokes, the No. 20 Ohio State women’s golf team carded a fourth round score of 296 to move up one slot and conclude the 2012 NCAA Championship in 22nd. Competing at the par 72, 6,377/6,264-yard Vanderbilt legends Golf Club in Franklin, Tenn., the Buckeye totaled 1,211 at the 72-hole event to close the 2011-12 season.
At 1,171, Alabama won the tournament by a stroke over second-place Southern California, while Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Oklahoma took medalist honors at 6-under 282.
Totaling 293, Rachel Rohanna fired a day four mark of 74 to break into the top 15 and tie for 14th. The junior from Waynesburg, Pa., opened the round with a birdie on No. 10 before carding her second a few holes later on No. 14.
With totals of 305, junior captain Amy Meier and freshman Claudia Lim concluded the tournament tied for 84th. Both Buckeyes carded two birdies throughout the day, with Meier firing a final round of 72 and Lim notching a 75.
Carding a score of 75, her lowest of the tournament, freshman Jan Chanpalangsri finished tied for 113th at 312.
A few strokes back at 315, junior Susana Benavides also tallied her low round of the tournament with a 76.
