Ohio State Takes Seventh at Big Ten Championships

FRENCH LICK, Ind. – The No.36 Ohio State women’s golf team finished the 2013 Big Ten Championships in seventh with a three-round total of 918 on the par 72, 6,099-yard Donald Ross Golf Course at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.
Northwestern and Purdue were declared co-champions as each finished with a 20-over 884. Purdue’s Paula Reto captured the individual crown with a 4-under 212.
Senior Amy Meier captured her seventh Top 20 finish of the season, tying for 12th with a 9-over 225. The Rochester Hills, Mich., product carded a 1-over 73 Sunday for her best round of the tournament , having one birdie and two bogeys on the front nine and finishing even on the back.
Sophomore Jan Chanpalangsri and senior Susana Benavides came in tied for 20th with a 12-over 228. Sophomore Claudia Lim tied for 50th with a 239, while junior Allison Harper finished with a 243. Sophomore Sheridan Balyeat closed out the Buckeye lineup with a 262.
Ohio State looks to advance to its 19th-consecutive NCAA Regional, May 9-11. The field will be announced April 29.
