Buckeyes Fifth after Two Rounds of Big Ten Championships

FRENCH LICK, Ind. - The No.36 Ohio State women's golf team concluded the second round of the 2013 Big Ten Championships in fifth with a two-day total of 32-over 613. The Buckeyes totaled a 19-over 307 Saturday on the par 72, 6,099-yard Donald Ross Golf Course at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.
Northwestern continues to hold the lead with a 6-over 582. Purdue's Paula Reto is first individually with a 2-under 142.
Sophomore Jan Chanpalangsri moved up the leaderboard with the help of an even 72 in the second round and is tied for fourth overall with a 3-over 147. The Bangkok, Thailand, product totaled four birdies to offset four bogies on the day.
Seniors Susana Benavides and Amy Meier are in the Top 25, finishing the day tied for 18th and tied for 21st, respectively. Benavides has a two-day total of 7-over 151 (75-76), while Meier is a stroke back at 8-over 152 (75-77).
Rounding out the Buckeye lineup is sophomore Claudia Lim, junior Allison Harper and sophomore Sheridan Balyeat. Lim is tied for 50th with a 160, while Harper has a two-round score of 162 and Balyeat has a 175.
The third and final round of the conference tournament is set to start Sunday morning with 8 a.m. ET tee times.
