Ohio State Opens Big Ten Tournament in Fourth

FRENCH LICK, Ind. - The No.36 Ohio State women's golf team opened the first round of the 2013 Big Ten Tournament Friday in fourth with a team score of 301. The 6-count-4 event is being held on the par 72, 6,099-yard Donald Ross Golf Course at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.

Second round action is set to begin at 9 a.m. ET Saturday, with final round tee times starting at 9 a.m. ET Sunday.

Northwestern sits I first after the first 18 holes with a 1-under 287. Northwestern's Hana Lee leads the individual leaderboard after posting a 4-under 68 in the first round.

Senior Amy Meier, sophomore Jan Chanpalangsri and senior Susana Benavides tied for 13th after each carded a 3-over 75. Chanpalangsri tallied a team-high four birdies in the effort with three on the front nine to remain under par on the day until a triple-bogey put her over par on 14. Meier, who has posted three-consecutive top 5 finishes, totaled three birdies in the round, while Benavides recorded two birdies in the back nine.

Sophomore Claudia Lim started the round with back-to-back birdies on holes one and two en route to a 4-over 76 to tie for 22nd place. Allison Harper tied for 51st with an 8-over 80 in the first round, while Sheridan Balyeat posted a 15-over 87.
