Ohio State Takes Fourth at Lady Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 36 Ohio State women's golf team closed out the regular season with a fourth-place finish at its own Lady Buckeye Invitational Sunday, carding a 54-hole score of 919. The Buckeyes totaled a 304 on the final day of the 33rd annual tournament played on the par 72, 6,268-yard Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club.
Michigan State captured the team title with a 40-over 904, earning its second title at the Lady Buckeye in the last three years. Purdue senior Laura Gonzalez finished first individually with a 5-over 221.
Senior Amy Meier picked up her third-consecutive appearance in the Top 5, placing second to lead Ohio State with an 8-over 224. The Rochester Hills, Mich., product carded one of the best individual scores of the day with a 1-over 73 to go with scores of 79 and 72 from the first two rounds.
Allison Harper tied for seventh overall to earn her best individual finish this season. The junior from Upper Arlington finished with a season-low 228 following rounds of 78-75-75. Sophomore Jan Chanpalangsri earned a career-best individual finish, coming in tied for 13th with 15-over 232.
The Buckeyes will begin postseason play April 26-28 at the Big Ten Championships in French Lick, Ind.
