Ohio State Finishes Third at SMU Dallas Athletic Club

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's golf team concluded the 2013 SMU Dallas Club Invitational Sunday in third place with a three-round total of 906 on the par 72, 6,301-yard Dallas Athletic Club course. The finish marks the team's second-consecutive team finish in the Top 3 after capturing second place at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in March.
Oklahoma State held on to win the tournament with a three-day total of 896. Oklahoma State's Julie Yang was crowned the individual champion after carding a 6-under 210 over the three rounds.
Buckeye seniors Amy Meier and Susana Benavides tied for fourth place to lead Ohio State. Benavides posted a 3-over 75 in the third round en route to her best finish this season. Meier recorded two birdies in the final round to score a three-day total of 8-over 224. Her fourth place finish marks her second-consecutive appearance in the Top 5.
Claudia Lim tallied a team-low score of 2-over 74 in the final round to move from 18th to eighth place. The Bella Vista, Australia, native matched her season-low score of 224 and her eighth place finish is the best of her career. Ohio State and Oklahoma were the only teams to have three players finish in the Top 10.
Ohio State returns to Columbus to host the Lady Buckeye Invitational April 20-21.
