COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's golf team kicked off competition at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational Friday and finished with a team score of 11-over 299 for fourth after the first round of play. The Buckeyes return to the par 72, 6,301-yard Dallas Athletic Club Saturday at 9 a.m. ET for the second round of play.

Kansas State leads all teams with a 6-over 294, while Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil leads all players with a 3-under 69.

Senior Amy Meier leads the Buckeyes and is tied for fifth place with an even 72 in round one. After posting two bogeys on the front nine, Meier responded with four birdies on the back nine to finish even.

Senior Susana Benavides tallied a 3-over 75 in the first round with one birdie on the eighth hole. Sophomores Claudia Lim and Jan Chanapalngsri are each tied for 18th, earning a 4-over 76. Junior Allison Harper tied for a team-best four birdies on the day, finishing tied for 31st place.
