Ohio State Second with One Round to go at Gator Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The Ohio State women's golf team improved its team score on day two of the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational and stand in second with a two-round total of 20-over 580 (292, 288). The three-round tournament is being played on the par 70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville.
Kent State sits atop the tight team leaderboard with a 15-over 575 following a 1-under 279 performance Saturday. Texas A&M's Marijosse Navarro is the individual leader, standing even after two rounds with scores of 71 and 69 for a 140.
Senior Allison Harper put together a steady round and carded an even 70 on the day, having two birdies to offset two bogeys. The Upper Arlington, Ohio, product is tied for fifth overall with a two-day score of 3-over 143.
Freshmen Jessica Porvasnik and Zoe-Beth Brake concluded Saturday tied for 11th overall with a 5-over 145. Porvasnik improved by a stroke from her round one score of 73 and came in with a 72 with two birdies. Brake logged a 73 on the day to go with a 72 from the first round.
Coming in tied for 35th was freshman Katja Pogacar with an 8-over 148 (75, 73). Junior Claudia Lim finished the day tied for 54th with a 154. Classmate Jan Chanpalangsri, competing as an individual, has a 158 over two rounds.
The final round of the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational begins Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
