Buckeyes Tied for First after Round One of Gator Women's Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The Ohio State women's golf team concluded the first round of the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational tied for first with a 12-over 292. Tied with Florida State, the Buckeyes and the rest of the 14-team field are competing on the par 70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville.
Freshman Zoe-Beth Brake guided the Buckeyes with a 2-over 72 on the day, coming into the clubhouse tied for seventh. The Whakatane, New Zealand, product totaled two birdies overall.
A pair of Buckeyes in senior Allison Harper and freshman Jessica Porvasnik are tied for 16th with a 3-over 73. After opening with a double bogey, Harper regrouped and added a birdie on her day. Porvasnik finished with a team-best three birdies in the round.
Junior Claudia Lim concluded the afternoon with a 4-over 74 and is tied for 25th, while freshman Katja Pogacar carded a 5-over 75 to tie for 38th. Playing as an individual, junior Jan Chanpalangsri totaled an 81 on the day.
Round two kicks off Saturday with 9 a.m. ET tee times. Ohio State will be grouped with Florida State and Penn State and will start on the first hole.
