PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The Ohio State women’s golf team finished 17th in its first spring tournament Tuesday at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
Junior Jaclyn Lee climbed 20 spots on the leaderboard on the final day, posting a 1-over 72 to finish the tournament in a tie for 30th at 10-over par. Sophomore Adeena Shears followed up a second-round career-best 73 with a final-round 78 to tie for 41st while fellow sophomore Alex Wright carded an 82 in the final round to tie for 59th. Freshmen Alanis Sakuma and Sofia Seldemirova, competing as individuals, finished with a final-round 82 and 85, respectively. Junior Niki Schroeder concluded the tournament with an 86 while senior Rio Watanabe recorded an 85 on the final day.
For the tournament, Lee and Shears tied with a team-high 33 pars and five birdies while Shears tallied the Buckeyes’ lone eagle. Lee, Shears and Wright each contributed the team ledger all three rounds.
