Buckeyes Tied for 14th after Two Rounds at Northop Grumman

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team carded a 301 on day two of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge and is tied for 14th with one round remaining. The 16-team tournament is being held on the par 71, 6,017-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club. Southern California moved ahead of UCLA to hold first at the end of the round. The Women of Troy notched a 4-under 280 and have a one-stroke lead over the Bruins with a 10-over 578. UCLA is second with an 11-over 579. Duke’s Alejandra Cangrejo leads the individual leaderboard with a 2-under 140. Senior Susana Benavides finished the day with a 1-over 72, carding a team-best five birdies. The Cochabamba, Bolivia, product is tied for 40th with a 10-over 152. Classmate Amy Meier is tied for 23rd with a 149 after finishing with a 78 on the day. Junior Allison Harper carded a 5-over 76 and is tied for 54th with a 155. Sophomores Jan Chanpalangsri and Claudia Lim each finished with a 7-over 78 and have two-day scores of 159 and 161, respectively. Classmate Sheridan Balyeat has a two-day total of 185 and is competing as an individual for the Buckeyes.
