Buckeye classmates Zoe-Beth Brake, Katja Pogacar and Jessica Porvasnik were each named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Monday (July 6). The prestigious honor's stringent criteria for selection includes a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.

This fall, 14 new members will be enshrined in the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame, with 12 former student-athletes and two coaches among the honorees. The class will be inducted Sept. 18 at a dinner and introduced to the public at halftime of the Ohio State home football game against Northern Illinois Sept. 19.

Ohio State had a league-high 166 placed on the Academic All-Big Ten team for spring and at-large sports, the Big Ten Conference announced Thursday. In all, 1,447 spring and at-large sports student-athletes from around the conference were recognized.

Niki Schroeder will arrive on the Ohio State University campus in August as a freshman for the Buckeye women's golf program. But before she gets to Columbus, the Avon Lake native will compete in the LPGA's oldest major championship after qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open this week.

Zoe-Beth Brake recently completed her redshirt sophomore campaign as a member of the Ohio State women's golf program. As a 22-year-old redshirt freshman in 2013-14, she immediately earned the respect of her teammates and was voted as a team captain.
