Columbus, Ohio – Courtney Daniels, who just finished up her junior year on the Ohio State field hockey team, is one of 12 Ohio State student-athletes scheduled to travel to the Dominican Republic from Dec. 15-19 for an international service-learning experience. The Department of Athletics, SASSO and Buckeyes Go International are partnering with Soles4Souls for the fifth time.
“I am very excited to be given an opportunity like this to work alongside my fellow student-athletes to provide new shoes for children of the Dominican Republic,” Daniels said.
Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty through the distribution of shoes and clothing. More information on Soles4Souls can be found at soles4souls.org This marks the first winter trip for OSU Athletics and two new sports programs will partake in the adventure as cross county and wrestling are sending their first representatives on a service-learning experience.
