COLUMBUS, Ohio – Maddy Humphrey, a junior on the Ohio State field hockey team, has been selected to participate in the USA Field Hockey U-21 selection camp Jan. 15-17 at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa.
Humphrey earned the invite based on her play at the Young Women's High Performance Tournament last summer, U-21 National Team Camp last July and the 2015 college season. Based on their performances from the camp, athletes may earn selection to the U-21 Women's National Team.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Humphrey led the Buckeyes in scoring with 32 points (12 goals, eight assists). She ranked seventh in the league in goals, fifth in assists, sixth in points and eighth in points per game. She earned second team All-Big Ten honors.
Humphrey started off the year on a tear, scoring at least one goal in each of the Buckeyes’ first four games. Overall, she tallied a goal in 10 of 17 games and had at least one point in 14 of 17 contests. Ten times, she finished with multiple points.
A three-year starter, Humphrey has played in all 51 games over her career with 88 points on 34 goals and 20 assists. She ranks No. 16 on the career points list and No. 13 in goals. Two years ago as a freshman, she also led the team in both goals (12) and assists (eight).
