COLUMBUS, Ohio - Seniors Danica Deckard and Berta Queralt of the Ohio State field hockey team have been invited to play in the 2012 NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Wednesday. The event will be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. Ohio State has had at least one student-athlete in the Senior All-Star game in seven of the last eight seasons.
Deckard led the team with 33 points and 13 goals in 2012 with five gamewinning goals. She has collected 10 multi-point performances, including a career-high seven points vs. Kent State Sept. 19. In the conference, she was third in shots (105), shots per game (6.18) and gamewinning goals (5). She was sixth in goals (13), seventh in points (310) and eighth in goals per game (0.76) in the conference standings.
Queralt was second on the team with 29 points on 12 goals and five assists. In conference play, Queralt was fifth in goals per game (0.86), sixth in points per game (2.07) and eighth in points (29). A two-time All-American, Queralt concluded her career with 146 points, 49 goals and 48 assists. She also posted two hat tricks in 2012.
