All seven Big Ten programs received votes in the 2011 preseason standings with the Buckeyes leading the way. Three other Big Ten teams cracked the Top 20: Penn State (8), Michigan (9) and Michigan State (13). Northwestern, Iowa and Indiana also received votes.
The first regular-season poll will be released Sept. 6. At that point, the Buckeyes will have five games under their belt, including their season opener at home vs. No. 15 Duke Friday. Ohio State will then continue the weekend in Columbus when the squad hosts New Hampshire Saturday. Both games are set to begin at 2 p.m. ET.
In all, eight of Ohio State's 2011 opponents made the Top 20 preseason poll with three ranked in the Top 10.
Head coach Anne Wilkinson, who is in her 16th season at the helm of the Scarlet and Gray and her 25th season overall, enters the 2011 campaign with seven starters returning from a team that advanced to the NCAA Semifinals last year.
