COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kelsey Mitchell averaged 26.5 points and 7.0 assists in leading the Buckeyes to a pair of wins over the weekend and for her efforts she was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week.
Mitchell scored 22 points, dished-out five assists and had a pair of steals in the win over Dartmouth on Friday evening. Then playing in the spotlight of her hometown on Sunday, the Cincinnati native scored a game-high 31 points, dished-out a career-high nine assists and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds in the 87-76 win over the Bearcats.
In addition to her average of 26.5 points and 7.0 assists, Mitchell had just one turnover while playing 70 of the 80 minutes.
This was her second Big Ten weekly honor of the season and the 10th of her career.
Mitchell and the Buckeyes won’t play again until after Christmas when they open Big Ten play at Nebraska on Dec. 28.
