  • The Buckeyes picked-up their first win of the season last Thursday and will look for a second this Sunday when it hosts NEC foe Wagner.
  • Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at St. John Arena.
  • Ohio State comes into the game with a 1-2 record and is ranked No. 7 in the AP poll and No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
  • Wagner has started the year 0-2 with road losses at Pitt and Old Dominion.

  • Wagner is coming off a 7-22 season and have opened this season with a pair of losses at Pitt and Old Dominion.
  • Jasmine Nwajei, last year’s second-leading scorer, is pacing the team again through two games. She has averaged 15 ppg and has dished-out six assists.
  • Sofia Roma is averging 6.0 ppg but tops the team with 8.5 rpg and five blocks.
  • Wagner opponents have hurt the Seahawks from the outside, averaging 9.0 three-point field goals per game.

  • For the second-straight game, Ohio State will be facing an opponent for the first time when it hosts Wagner on Sunday.

  • Head coach Kevin McGuff will be coaching his first game against Wagner on Sunday.

  • St. John Arena is one of the historic venues in college basketball.
  • The Buckeyes began playing in St. John Arena in the 1974-75 season and have an all-time winning percentage of .801. 
  • OSU has won 261 games and has lost just 65 in parts of 27 seasons in the arena.
  • Sunday’s game will be Ohio State’s 327th in the SJA with the most recent game being a 78-53 victory over Winthrop on Nov. 17, 2012.
  • Since moving its home games to Value City Arena prior to the 1998-99 season, this will be Ohio State’s 23rd game in St. John Arena.

  • While head coach Kevin McGuff hasn’t coached a game in St. John Arena, he has played a couple of meaningful games.
  • McGuff helped lead Hamilton Badin High School to the Ohio DIII State championship in 1988 which was played in St. John Arena.
