Ohio State basketball fans can get an early look at a host of new faces at the Buckeyes on the Blacktop event Oct. 6. Mark Titus, who played for the Ohio State men’s basketball team from 2007-10, will emcee.
The men's and women's basketball teams will be on hand for the 7 p.m. event at the RPAC Lincoln Tower Outdoor Courts near Ohio Stadium. Plan to arrive early. Space is limited. Fans are encouraged to use the pay parking garage just north of Ohio Stadium.
The teams will participate in basketball drills, skills competition, 3-point and dunk contests. Free T-shirts will be available while supplies last.
This is a free opportunity for all fans to get to know the 2016-17 Ohio State basketball teams.
The women's team opens the season officially Nov. 11 vs. Duquesne after an exhibition game at Value City Arena at 1 p.m. Nov. 6 vs. Ashland. The game vs Duquesne will be played at historic St. John Arena and will tip at noon.
The men's team begins the season with an exhibition game Nov. 6 at home vs. Walsh (4 p.m.). The Buckeyes will open the year officially on the road Nov. 11 in the Veterans Classic in Annapolis, Maryland, vs. Navy (9 p.m./CBSSN). Ohio State’s home opener at Value City Arena tips at 9 p.m. Nov. 14 vs. North Carolina Central (ESPNU).
