Kelsey Mitchell Throws First Pitch At Reds Game
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State rising-sophomore Kelsey Mitchell threw out the ceremonial first pitch Wednesday night for her hometown Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.
Mitchell, a graduate of Princeton High School in Cincinnati, was the first freshman to ever lead the country in scoring as she averaged 24.9 points per game last season. She scored an Ohio State and Big Ten single-season record 873 thanks in large part to an NCAA single-season record 127 three-pointers. Mitchell was named the USBWA National Freshman of the Year as well as the Big Ten Co-Player of the Year.
Below are two videos of her pitch. The first is courtesy of Major League Baseball and the second is a first hand look at her pitch from behind the plate.
