COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State and North Carolina are set to meet this November as part of the 2018 ACC/Big Ten Challenge which was announced by the conferences on Monday.

The Buckeyes and Tar Heels will be meeting for the ninth time overall and the third time in the challenge. UNC won both of the previous meetings and leads the all-time series 5-3.

In 2008, the Tar Heels came to Columbus and won 72-63 and then also won 57-54 in Chapel Hill in 2012. The most recent meeting between the two teams came in the second round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament where North Carolina's Jamie Cherry hit a running buzzer-beater to give the Tar Heels an 86-84 victory.

The Buckeyes are coming off a 28-7 season which including winning both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. However, head coach Kevin McGuff will be tasked with replacing his top six scorers and all five starters from last season.

North Carolina was 15-16 last season and 4-12 in the ACC. The Tar Heels have not participated in postseason place since their run to the Sweet 16 in 2015 but return the bulk of their roster from last year as they graduated just one senior.
