COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State women's basketball coach Kevin McGuff announced Tuesday (May 13) that senior guard Maleeka Kynard has decided to transfer to another school where she will have one more year of eligibility remaining.

A 5-7 guard from Toledo Start High School, Kynard played in 74 games with four starts for the Buckeyes during the past three seasons. A three-year letter winner, Kynard averaged 3.5 points per game and recorded 24 steals and 26 assists this past season while battling through and injuries and an illness.

"I'd like to thank Maleeka for her contributions to the program the past three years," McGuff said. "We understand and support her choice to transfer to another school. She will make a positive impact wherever she decides to play and I wish she and her family the very best."
