Columbus, Ohio – Following their competition schedules of the 2016-2017 academic calendar, 32 Ohio State student-athletes will travel abroad as part of Buckeyes Go International, SASSO and the Department of Athletics’ initiative to provide international experiences through education abroad and service-learning.
Overall the group is comprised of 24 unique varsity programs, traveling to eight countries. Buckeyes will update friends, family, and fans on their experiences overseas this summer through unique blog entries to be posted at a later date. Here is a list of participating student-athletes:

Coach for College is a service-learning program that brings together US student-athletes and Vietnamese university students to teach academics, sports, and life skills at summer camps to disadvantaged children in rural Vietnam. More information can be found on http://www.coachforcollege.org/.

12 Buckeyes are headed to Ecuador from May 10-17 in partnership with Soles4Souls, where they will provide shoes to those in need at local schools and communities throughout the country. This will be Ohio State’s fourth trip with S4S, a non-profit dedicated to fighting poverty through the distribution of shoes and clothing. Previous trips include Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Bolivia. 10 Buckeyes are headed to Thailand from August 7-15 in partnership with Global Vision International (GVI), where they will engage in sports-related and life skills activities with local youth in the Phang Nga province.
