Columbus, Ohio – SASSO celebrated the 4th Annual Academic Advisor Appreciation Night on Friday, March 31st. Academic advisors, university support staff, and their families joined the SASSO staff at the Men’s Volleyball game vs. McKendree University to be recognized for their hard work and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
“It is important to take time to celebrate the hard work of those behind the scenes. In some ways, it is a thankless job, but we don’t want that effort to go unnoticed. There are countless hours of coordination and communication that take place to put these students in a situation to be successful on and off the court. We have great people here at OSU, so it is nice to get together and rally around our successes and the successes of our student-athletes” Shaun Swearingen, Assistant Director, SASSO.
In addition to food and camaraderie, our student-athletes put together a video to thank the academic advisors and support staff on campus for their dedication and guidance that takes place day in and day out. Between the second and third sets, 27 advisors and support staff were recognized on the court in front of the St. John crowd.
“As student-athletes we would like to show our appreciation for all of the academic advisors on campus. Your advice and dedication to excellence help each of us meet our goals and earn a degree from the Ohio State University.” Molly Wood, Junior Women’s Lacrosse
“Because of you we are able to balance everything that comes along with being a student athlete. You make this possible.” Jalen Washington, Junior Baseball
SASSO would like to thank all advisors and support staff for their help throughout the year. Our partnerships add value to the student-athlete experience and we appreciate the effort and constant communication that take place each and every day. It was a great evening to celebrate this special group and see our No. 1 ranked Buckeyes beat McKendree University in straight sets!
