COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s cross country team travels to Terre Haute, Ind., this Saturday, Oct. 19, for the Indiana State University Pre-National Invitational.
The Buckeyes will race against 52 of the nation’s top teams Friday morning at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, site of the 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Buckeyes Ranked Ninth in Great Lakes Region Poll
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its regional cross country rankings Oct. 7, with Ohio State slotted at No. 9 in the Great Lakes region. Indiana, ranked 12th nationally, is the No. 1-ranked team in the region. 20th-ranked Wisconsin is second, followed by Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Butler, Eastern Michigan and the Buckeyes.

Ohio State turned in a 19th-place finish at the 8k Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind., Oct. 4.
The Buckeyes closed the race with a team score of 470, finishing nine points behind Eastern Michigan. No. 8 Columbia won the title with 113 points, followed by ninth-ranked Tulsa (124) and No. 10 Princeton (147).
Sophomore Jordan Redd was the top individual finisher for the third meet in a row, crossing the finish line 40th overall in a time of 25:09.8. Also scoring for Ohio State were sophomores Nick Pupino (75th, 25:32.0), Brian Hannaford (83rd, 25:38.2), Curtis Hanle (141st, 26:15.4) and Jeff Hannaford (143rd, 26:17.2).
Ohio State has two weeks off prior to a Nov. 3 trip to the 2013 Big Ten Cross Country Championships in West Lafayette, Ind.
