COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman Michael Brajdic finished seventh overall Saturday at the Bupa Great Winter Run at Hayward Park in Edinburgh, Scotland, helping Team USA to a first-place finish.
Brajdic ran a 6k time of 20:19 in the Junior Team Challenge – fourth-best among his American teammates – to help the United States defeat 2011 champion Team Europe and Team Great Britain. Oklahoma State freshman Kirubel Erassa paced the Americans with a winning time of 19:59.
“I am very proud of Michael’s performance,” Ohio State head coach Robert Gary said. “Being able to represent your country in athletic competition is what track and cross country is all about.
Michael will redshirt the indoor track and field season, but I look forward to watching his continued development.”
