Ohio State Finishes 10th at Big Ten Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s cross country team finished 10th overall at the 2014 Big Ten Cross Country Championships Sunday afternoon at Ashton Cross Country Course in Iowa City, Iowa.

Senior Jackson Neff was the top finisher for the Buckeyes in his final Big Ten meet, placing 48th overall in a personal-best 8k time of 24:44.6. Freshman Clayton Bowie was impressive in his conference debut, finishing 55th in 24:54.8, while juniors Blake Taneff (60th, 25:04.5) and Curtis Hanle (25:04.5) finished 60th and 61st, respectively. Freshman Nick Elswick completed the scoring five for OSU with a 69th-place effort (25:15.6).

Ohio State totaled a team score of 277, finishing 24 points behind ninth-place Purdue. No. 6 Wisconsin won the conference title with 47 points, led by individual champion Malachy Schrobilgen, who defended his title from 2013.
