Buckeyes Compete at Pre-Nationals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s cross country team placed 28th out of 52 teams Saturday morning at the 8k Indiana State Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
OSU closed the meet with a team score of 733. No. 2 Colorado won the race with 90 team points, followed by No. 4 Oregon (113 points) and No. 18 Iona (126).
Sophomore Jordan Redd continued his four-meet streak as the top Buckeye finisher, placing 69th overall for the Scarlet and Gray in a time of 24:23.77. Also scoring for Ohio State were sophomores Nick Pupino (123rd, 24:36.36), Curtis Hanle (145th, 24:55.72), Brian Hannaford (147th, 24:56.32) and Blake Taneff (249th, 25:28.31). The times from Redd and Pupino were personal bests.
“We ran much better today than in weeks past,” Ohio State distance coach Brice Allen said after the race. “I’m excited to see a 33-second gap from our No.1 to No. 4 runners. The men executed the game plan on the course today. We are looking forward to preparing these next couple of weeks for the Big Ten championships.”
