COLUMBUS, Ohio - Logan Stieber, a 133-pounder on the No. 4 Ohio State wrestling team, was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. The No. 1-ranked Stieber and the Buckeyes defended their title at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Wrestling Invitational Dec. 1, edging No. 7 Missouri by one point, 124.5-123.5.

"Logan had a great tournament," Tom Ryan, head coach, said. This is just another way he continues to lead the program by example."

Named the event's most outstanding wrestler, Stieber, a Buckeye team captain, had one of the more impressive performances in the tournament as he posted four pins en route to the final. In his first four wins, Stieber, a redshirt sophomore, was on the mat for a total time of 6:34, while his final match went the full seven minutes. In the final, Stieber recorded a 12-1 major decision over No. 2 and Missouri's Nathan McCormick. Stieber currently boasts a 12-0 record, with seven of his victories coming via fall. Additionally, Stieber has two major decisions and two technical falls.

Ohio State returns to action at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 when it hosts Kent State at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 in St. John Arena. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series vs. the Golden Flashes, 12-6, including a 22-15 win in Kent, Ohio, last season.
