COLUMBUS, Ohio - Te'Shan Campbell made the most out of his debut in front of the home crowd as a Buckeye, dominating a Top-10 foe in Ohio State's 31-12 victory over Arizona State. That performance earned him Co-Big Ten Wrestler of the Week distinction, sharing the honor with Michigan heavyweight Adam Coon.
Campbell reasserted Ohio State back on top in the 165-pound bout, cruising in a Top-10 showdown. Campbell, ranked seventh by Intermat, faced off against the sixth-ranked 165-pounder, Anthony Valencia. The Buckeye wasted little time erasing doubt of his ill-advised lower Intermat standing, executing an immediate takedown accompanied with six near-fall points in period number one. He'd tack on a four-point near-fall in the second, building up to an eventual 14-0 major decision and pushing the Bucks ahead for good at 13-9.
Next up for Campbell and the rest of the Buckeyes is a tri-dual meet on Tuesday, Nov. 21 when Ohio State hosts the 2017 Thanksgiving Throwdown.
