Match Up Between Pair of NCAA Champions at All-Star Classic
Logan Stieber will wrestle in the 141-weight class during the season, but will face Oklahoma's Kendric Maple in the 149-pound bout at the All-Star Classic Nov. 2.

COLUMBUS, Ohio– Logan Stieber, a redshirt junior on the Ohio State wrestling team, will face Kendric Maple of Oklahoma in the annual NWCA All-Star Classic Nov. 2 on the campus of George Mason University. Stieber, a two-time NCAA champion, will jump up a weight class to 149 pounds to take on Kendric who also won a national title in 2013.
Along with his two national titles won in 2012 and 2013, Stieber also has captured a pair of Big Ten titles at 133 pounds. The Monroeville, Ohio, native has entered his redshirt junior season with a 65-5 career record, including a 27-2 mark in dual competition (10-1 in the Big Ten).
Stieber’s opponent, Maple is a senior with a 102-18 career ledger and is a two-time All-American.
This Saturday at 8 p.m. during the football Buckeyes’ game vs. Wisconsin, Stieber will be recognized in the first quarter for his outstanding achievements during the 2012-13 season. Stieber will be joined by fellow Buckeye individual national champions Michael Newburger of the men’s gymnastics team and Joe Totts from the pistol team.
