The NWCA All-Star Classic is an annual showcase of the nation’s top college wrestling stars in a dual meet format that’s kicked off the college wrestling season since 2004. It was previously a post-season or late-season event.

Over the course of the event, Ohio State has been represented 18 times, most recently by four-time NCAA champion Logan Stieber. Buckeye wrestlers have gone a combined 9-9. The first Ohio State wrestler to compete in the event was current Notre Dame College head coach Frank Romano, who wrestled at 118 pounds in 1970.

Thus far, matchups at 285 pounds (Adam Coon of Michigan vs. Ty Walz of Virginia Tech), 184 pounds (Victor Avery of Edinboro vs. Nate Brown of Lehigh) and 157 pounds (Isaiah Martinez of Illinois vs. Nick Brascetta of Virginia Tech) have been announced. Future announcements will continue throughout September and October.
