INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- In a tune-up for this summer's Olympic Games in Rio, Kyle Snyder and Team USA appeared to be in midseason form, finishing 2-0 on the opening night of the Freestyle World Cup at the Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Team USA will collide with Iran at 3 p.m. EST (noon PST) on Sunday for a spot in the evenings championship match. It is a rematch of last year's World Cup finals. The entire World Cup can be seen on Flowrestling.com

The Americans won 15 of 16 matches on Saturday, as Snyder punctuated a 7-1 victory over India with a 10-0 technical fall over Kadian Satywart. It was one of three tech falls for the Americans (James Green and J'Den Cox earned the others). Snyder's night was capped with a 2-1 decision against Aslanbek Alborov of Azerbaijan, leading to a 8-0 victory for Team USA. Snyder was unable to strike on a takedown, but he held solid position throughout his match.

Each year the World Cup plays hosts to the top eight teams from the previous year's World Championships. Russia, Georgia, Turkey, and Mongolia will make up Group A, with Iran, Azerbaijan, India, and The United States in Group B.
