COLUMBUS, Ohio -- For Logan Stieber, coaching will have to wait. The four-time national champion who wrapped up his career with the Buckeyes in 2015 narrowly missed qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics in April and will continue to train in Columbus as part of the Ohio RTC with a focus on making the team in 2020.
Earlier in the year, Stieber had decided to join Tom Ryan’s staff as an assistant coach, but instead will turn 100 percent of his focus on achieving his Olympic goals. It is the best of both worlds, however, as he will continue to wrestle and train around the current group of Buckeyes in the wrestling room at Steelwood.
Meanwhile, Hunter Stieber continues to rehab from an injury that cut short his 2015-16 season and is also training with members of the Ohio RTC. Like Logan, he is also in the unique position to pass on the knowledge and experience gained during five years in the program on to the current group of Buckeyes.
