COLUMBUS, Ohio - No. 4 Ohio State will face No. 8 Cornell in the NWCA National Championship Dual Series, the organization announced today. The match will take place next Sunday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. at Newman Arena on the campus of Cornell.

The Buckeyes and Big Red have met 13 times previously with the series tied 6-6-1. The last time they faced each other was in 2011 at the National Duals, a 27-6 decision for Cornell.

The Ivy League champion, Cornell is 12-2 this year with wins over No. 13 Rutgers, No. 11 Lehigh and No. 17 Oklahoma. Its lineup is highlighted by No. 1-ranked and defending national champion Gabe Dean at 184 pounds. They also have No. 3-ranked Brian Realbuto at 174 pounds, who won 33 matches last year but was injured at the NCAA Championships.

Ohio State completed its Big Ten regular season yesterday by edging No. 12 Minnesota, 24-20, on the strength of four bonus-point victories. The Buckeyes' lineup includes eight ranked wrestlers, six of whom are inside of the top 10. Ohio State owns seven wins this year against teams currently ranked in the USA Today/NWCA Top 25 poll.

If matchups hold, there is a potential for two top-10 matchups next Sunday: No. 1 Bo Jordan vs. No. 3 Brian Realbuto at 174 and No. 10 Myles Martin vs. No. 1 Gabe Dean at 184. Myles and Dean have met once this year already at the NWCA All-Star Classic in November.

In the second year of this format, teams from the Big Ten will face off with non-Big Ten teams in a showcase weekend of college wrestling dual meets. Last season, eight Big Ten teams hosted events around the country. In 2017, the Big Ten will be visiting college campuses in the ACC, Big XII, EIWA, EWL and Southern Conference.
