COLUMBUS, Ohio– Backed by six Buckeyes in the championship bracket, the fifth-ranked Ohio State wrestling team leads the field at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Wrestling Invitational with 85 points after competition Friday night. Taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the event boasts many of the top teams in the nation, including four Big Ten programs.
Action will continue at noon ET Saturday. Missouri is in second place with 80.5 points and Cornell rounds out the Top 3 with 53.5 points.
Nikko Triggas (125 pounds), Logan Stieber (133 pounds), Hunter Stieber (141 pounds), Cam Tessari (149 pounds), Andrew Campolattano (197 pounds) and Peter Capone (HWT) advanced to the semifinals of their respective weight classes. Josh Demas (157 pounds) and Kenny Courts (184) will continue action in wrestlebacks.
The Buckeyes were off to a fast start in the opening round when they posted five consecutive pins between 125-157 pounds.
