Summer 2008- Won gold medals at Pan American championships, sweeping Junior Greco-Roman and freestyle events (55kg/121) in Cuenca, Ecuador ... U.S. won team titles in the Greco-Roman and freestyle competitions, led by Triggas' double gold medals ... later was named Wrestler of the Week for the week of June 23 following impressive performances ... one of just two wrestlers to sweep both events.

2007-08 (Freshman Season)- Qualified for NCAA championships (March 20-22) in his rookie campaign at 125 pounds ... earned bid to nationals after finishing sixth in Big Ten championships (March 8-9) ... went 2-3 at league championships with wins over Akif Eren of Purdue and No. 6-seed Mark McKnight of Penn State ... completed first year of collegiate action with a 19-17 record and 74 team points ... in Las Vegas Invitational (Nov. 30-Dec. 1), posted a 4-2 ledger; included in four wins was an 8-3 upset of fourth-seed Collin Cudd of Wisconsin ... notched a 16-0 technical fall over Drew Hammen of Wisconsin in first-career Big Ten Conference matchup in St. John Arena (Dec. 10) ... following impressive league victory, went 3-0 at Ohio Duals (Dec. 16), posting a pair of falls and a decision to help Scarlet and Gray outscore its opponents, 131-9 ... recorded significant win against seventh-ranked McKnight of then-No. 1 Penn State in fifth-place matchup of the 2008 NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals (Jan. 12-13); victory helped push Buckeyes to a 12-0 lead over the Nittany Lions and eventual 24-11 win ... in Big Ten dual action, faced notable competition in No. 3 Charlie Falck of Iowa (Jan. 18), No. 10 McKnight, No. 2 Angel Escobedo of Indiana (Feb. 1) and No. 1 Jayson Ness of Minnesota (Feb. 24) ... suffered losses to more experienced conference rivals, but garnered wins against Eren of Purdue (pin; 3:54 - Feb. 3), Joel Trombly of Michigan State (major decision; 11-2 - Feb, 3) and Edinboro's Eric Morrill (pin; 1:04 - Feb. 14) ...
