Prior to Ohio State - Four-year letterwinner for Lakewood Ranch wrestling team ... compiled a 126-26 high school record ... also lettered in football (safety), swimming (50 & 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke) and weightlifting (138 weight class) ... earned Most Athletic Boy at LRHS ... 2011-12 wrestling MVP ... 2012-13 wrestling team captain ... wrestling all-county honorable mention in 2011 and 2012 ... 2012 wrestling all-area honorable mention ... wrestling team was named all-area in 2013 ... wrestling academic team state runner-up.

Personal - Son of Kim and Sandy ... has one brother, Kyle, who also wrestles for the Buckeyes ... greatest sports moment was helping Lakewood Ranch upset No. 8 Sarasota High School in a dual meet with the match coming down to his 112-pound bout; Blake was wrestling with an injured knee and eventually would need surgery and a sixth-month recovery time ... was a member of jazz band, concert band and wind ensemble ... involved in numerous community service initiatives, including blood drive committee, Students Above the Influence, Students Working Against Tobacco and Meals on Wheels.
