COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State men's volleyball team enters the 2013 season as the 11th-ranked squad in the AVCA Division I-II Men's Coaches Top 15 preseason poll, the organization announced. The Buckeyes are one of three MIVA schools ranked in the poll as Lewis holds the No. 5 spot, while Loyola-Chicago is ranked 10th.
Ohio State was chosen to finish third in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association by a vote of the league coaches. The 2012 MIVA tournament champion Lewis was voted as the conference favorite with 62 points and six first place votes. Loyola-Chicago was picked to finish second, having 54 points and one first place vote. Ohio State came in a close third with 52 points and one first place vote.
The Buckeyes open the 2013 schedule with a home match vs. Saint Francis in St. John Arena, Jan. 5. The match is set for 7 p.m. and admission is free.
