Sept. 21, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Head coach Pete Hanson and the Ohio State men’s volleyball team announced the 2013 schedule Thursday. The schedule features one tournament and 12 home matches in St. John Arena.
“Our 2013 schedule is very competitive,” Hanson said. “We are excited to return to the Outrigger Tournament in Hawaii and are looking forward to our home and away matches with Penn State, Saint Francis, and all of our MIVA opponents. We hope these tough early matches will prepare our team for a successful regular season and postseason.”
Ohio State opens the season at home against Saint Francis, Jan. 5, in St. John Arena. The squad follows with a trip to Hawaii to play in the Outrigger Tournament, Jan. 10-12. The Buckeyes face host Hawaii, UCLA and Penn State.
The team kicks off MIVA play, traveling to conference newcomer Lindenwood, Jan. 26-27. The Buckeyes continue non-conference play to start February, hosting George Mason (Feb. 2) before visiting Penn State (Feb. 9). Ohio State will play five other matches vs. non-conference opponents throughout the rest of the season.
The Buckeyes return to conference action with a home match vs. Ball State, Feb. 15. The squad will play four home and home series in the conference, while traveling for a pair of matches at Grand Canyon (March 8-9) and hosting two vs. Quincy (April 12-13).
