COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State University men's volleyball team has released its 2018 competition schedule. The two-time defending national champion Buckeyes are set to host 11 homes matches and hit the road for 14 contests away from St. John Arena during the regular season slate.
The '18 campaign starts in Columbus when North Greenville comes to town on Jan. 6. Ohio State then clashes with the west coast the next two weekends. Stanford and fellow 2016-17 NCAA finalist BYU check in to St. John Arena (Jan. 12-13) before the Buckeyes heads west for the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge (Jan. 18-20). Ohio State faces USC on Thursday and UCLA two nights later inside Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, site of the 2018 NCAA Championship.
Next up is four non-conference tilts against Saint Francis, Penn State, Charleston and George Mason, followed by the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association opener versus Ball State on Feb. 8. In addition to the rest of the MIVA schedule, Ohio State will also take on Penn State and Saint Francis a second time over the weekend of March 16-17.
Postseason action begins in mid-April when the MIVA Tournament runs from April 14-21. The NCAA Play-in Matches are slotted for either April 27 or May 1. As mentioned above, Pauley Pavilion will host the NCAA Championships May 3 (semifinals) and May 5 (finals).
